Stackyard 1.0 for macOS

One person makes this app, and reads every message sent to it. Preview requests, bugs, questions and suggestions all go to the same address.

support@appverz.com

Replies usually go out within two or three days. Please write in English if you can.

If that bounces, write to appverz94@gmail.com.

Reporting a problem

The more of this you can include, the faster it gets fixed:

  • Your macOS version — the Apple menu, then About This Mac.
  • The app version — the Stackyard menu, then About Stackyard.
  • Which section you were in, what you did, and what happened instead.
  • For a server, project or container that looks wrong: the port, the command that started it, and whether it runs in Docker.
  • A screenshot if anything looked wrong. ⌘⇧4 then Space captures a single window.
  • If the app quit unexpectedly: open Console, choose Crash Reports in the sidebar, and attach the newest report whose name starts with Stackyard.

Common questions

How do I get it?

Ask on the Stackyard page and a preview build comes back by email. Stackyard is not on sale yet.

Is cleaning safe?

Yes. Everything goes to the Trash, so you can put anything back. Caches and build folders are rebuilt by your tools when needed. Stackyard never touches cookies, history, passwords, Xcode Archives or your projects.

Why can't I quit some processes?

Processes owned by other users or by macOS itself appear as one read-only row. Stackyard only quits processes that belong to you.

Why can't Stackyard measure Safari's cache?

macOS protects it. Give Stackyard Full Disk Access in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Full Disk Access; the Welcome sheet has a button that opens the right pane.

My phone can't open a shared server.

Check that the phone is on the same Wi-Fi as your Mac and that you are using the shared port, the original plus 10000. If your Mac changed networks, sharing stopped, so choose Share on LAN again.

Stackyard disappeared when I closed the window.

It is still running in the menu bar. Click its menu-bar item and choose Open Stackyard.

Why isn't it on the Mac App Store?

Quitting other apps and processes needs an app that is not sandboxed, and the App Store only takes sandboxed apps. So Stackyard is distributed as a signed download from this site.

Feature requests

Send them. The preview is where the rough edges get found, and what people actually ask for decides what comes next.
