Stackyard · last updated 4 November 2026
Stackyard looks at your Mac and keeps what it sees on your Mac. The only thing it ever sends anywhere is a licence key, to check it.
What the app reads
To do its job, Stackyard reads the following on your Mac, and only on your Mac:
- Running processes: their names, memory, CPU and energy use, and which app or terminal started them.
- Listening network ports, and the answer each local server gives to a health check sent to 127.0.0.1.
- The folders you add to Projects, to find scripts and measure build folders.
- Docker containers and Homebrew services, through their own command-line tools.
- Cache, download and application folders, to measure what can be cleaned.
What the app stores
Its settings, your project folders and Guard rules, and 24 hours of memory samples for History. A small summary is written to a container shared with the widgets so they can draw without the app open. All of it stays on your Mac.
What goes online
- Checking a licence key, if you enter one: the key goes to Lemon Squeezy, the licence provider, to activate, validate or deactivate it. Activating also sends a label for this Mac — its name and the first eight characters of its hardware ID — so you can tell your activations apart. The key itself is kept in your Mac's Keychain.
- Get a License… opens our website in your browser; the app sends nothing itself.
- Share on LAN relays a server you choose to devices on your own network, and only while you share it. Nothing is exposed to the internet.
What the app does not do
- No accounts, and no sign-in.
- No analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDKs.
- It never reads cookies, browser history or passwords, and never cleans them.
Asking for the preview
While Stackyard is in preview, getting a build means asking on this site, so we hold your email address and any note you leave. It is used to send you the build and to answer you, it is not added to a list, and it is not passed to anyone. Ask and it is deleted.
Deleting your data
Removing the app and its preferences removes what it stored. Deactivate This Mac… in the licence sheet releases a key before you go.
