Ludo: King of Dice 1.0.0 for macOS
One person makes this app, and reads every message sent to it. Bugs, questions and suggestions are all welcome at the same address.
Replies usually go out within two or three days. Please write in English if you can.
Reporting a problem
The more of this you can include, the faster it gets fixed:
- Your macOS version — the Apple menu, then About This Mac.
- The app version — the Ludo: King of Dice menu, then About Ludo: King of Dice.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot if anything looked wrong. ⌘⇧4 then Space captures a single window.
- If the app quit unexpectedly: open Console, choose Crash Reports in the sidebar, and attach the newest report whose name starts with Ludo.
Common questions
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The app makes no network connections at all. Everything runs on your Mac, including the computer opponents.
Is there online multiplayer?
Not yet. Two to four people play on the same Mac, passing the keyboard, in any mix with computer opponents.
How do I play with the keyboard?
Space rolls. Tab and the arrow keys move between the tokens you can play, and Return plays the highlighted one. Esc pauses or closes what is open. ⌘? opens How to Play, which lists the rest.
My game disappeared.
It should not. The game in progress is saved after every move and the main menu offers to resume it. If the save cannot be read — after an update that changed its format, for instance — the app discards it rather than loading something broken, and you start fresh. If this happened to you, please write in; that is a bug worth knowing about.
Can I reset my statistics?
Yes. Open Statistics (⌘⇧S) and use Reset there. It asks before clearing anything.
The animations are too fast, or too much.
Settings (⌘,) has an animation speed slider and a Reduce Motion switch that replaces hops and tumbles with crossfades. The app also follows the system Reduce Motion and Increase Contrast settings.
How do I turn the music off?
⌘⇧M toggles it. Settings has separate volume sliders for music and sound effects, and either can be turned off entirely.
Where does the app store my data, and how do I remove it?
In its own sandboxed container, which is deleted when you delete the app. Nothing is stored anywhere else and nothing is sent anywhere. See the privacy policy for the details.
How do I request a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple, not by us, so refunds go through them: visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
Feature requests
Send them. Online multiplayer, per-seat statistics for pass-and-play games, more board themes and iCloud sync for saves are the ones already on the list, and knowing what people actually want decides the order.
